Since 1977 Great Waltham has been twinned with Ceyrat, a small town in the French Auvergne region. Exchange visits are organised every other year with guests visiting from Ceyrat in the alternate years. This is very much a twinning group for families, oldies and youngsters with the emphasis on having fun and making friends. New members are always welcome, whether to host, visit France, or just to join in with our activities |

In May
this year we once again held our village Boules Competition which
was a very enjoyable day and well supported and have had a Gourmet
night
In
July 44 adults and 20 youths and children from Ceyrat will come
and stay with us. Once again it is nice to see new French
and English families involved as this is what keeps the Twinning
going.
Our
visitors arrive in the evening of Friday July 22nd
and will stay until the following Friday morning. As usual
a varied mix of visits and activities has been arranged
including trips to the Olympic site in Stratford and Leeds
castle in Kent. The visit also coincides with a number of
village activities as well over the weekend of the 23rd.
